Escape From Kabul unfolds over 18 monumental days in August 2021, from the U.S. withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan through the subsequent evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghan citizens from Kabul airport after the Taliban seized the city.

I designed the title and some graphics for the project. For the primary typeface, I chose Monotype Grotesque instead of a generic sans serif typeface like Helvetica. Monotype Grotesque is a "Grotesque Sans Serif" typeface that has a more humane appearance compared to other sans serifs. It features irregular letterforms with quirky inconsistencies across different styles. However, I found that some numbers, such as 0, 2, and 3, looked a bit too quirky. As a solution, I decided to use Franklin Gothic Condensed specifically for those numbers.
