The shot featuring Roy Anderson in a miniature model of his studio was shot on camera, using a trick of perspective that positioned him much further back behind the model.
From the before-and-after comparison, it's evident that the on-camera visual effects appeared somewhat unnatural, almost as if they were composited.
The camera movement was extended slightly to allow for a slow stop. After the lights were turned on and he entered the room, the camera focus shifted causing the outside wall to blur. This was rectified by merging it with a different take.
