Early 1980. John Hull (Dan Skinner), a professor at the University of Birmingham, England, is making a home with his new wife Marilyn (Simone Kirby). In the weeks before the birth of their first son, John grows increasingly alarmed by the progress of black disks creeping across his field of vision. After a series of unsuccessful operations, he suffers a dramatic collapse of his sight. Within two years he has lost the last traces of sight. At this point, he begins keeping an audio diary.

Title Sequence (Sundace)

This version was only screened at the Sundance Film Festival. Since then, the opening of the final film has been simplified in a positive way to make it more accessible and immersive for the audience. Although the title sequence was a personal favorite of mine, I believe the changes were made with the director's intention to improve the film. I hope you enjoy watching it.

VFX - Wave Shot

For this particular VFX shot, I extended the background plate. In order to maintain the flashing light that was reflected in the glass panels, I merged several 4K shots to produce a background for the CG waves.

Photographic Sequence

The goal here was to create a dream-like sequence. Footage captured using a Red camera was processed to emulate the look of 16mm film. This was achieved through color adjustments and other related effects.
